GENEROSITY DONATION

It is wonderful to give and receive gifts for Birthdays, Weddings, Christmas and other significant life celebrations. Leave a legacy in your will

The Legacy and Bequest Program represents a remarkable opportunity for GBTSA to deepen relationships with our donors and supporters, ensuring our work of healing heartbroken children continues for decades. This form of giving allows donors to make a meaningful impact, extending their embrace to some of our country’s most vulnerable children, many of whom they may never meet.

Without our support, these children face daily challenges in unsafe environments, exposed to exploitation and abuse. Your bequest – whether grand or modest – provides a safe home, nutritious food, education, medical care, and, most importantly, empowers them to S.H.I.N.E.® and reclaim their self-worth.

Why Consider a Legacy Gift?

Many are surprised to learn that a seemingly modest bequest, such as 10% of their estate, can far exceed what they have donated during their lifetime. Legacy gifts open the door for ordinary supporters to make extraordinary philanthropic contributions. When you decide to include GBTSA in your Will, you join a community of individuals whose spirit of giving transforms countless lives for generations to come. The term ‘philanthropy’ means ‘love of humankind,’ and those who plan these bequests embody the essence of this noble act.

What is Legacy Giving?

Legacy giving, or planned giving, involves donors creating gifts for non-profits as part of their estate plans. These gifts are typically deferred and distributed after the donor’s passing. This form of giving encompasses both deferred estate gifts and donations made during the donor’s lifetime, requiring dedicated strategies for effective implementation.

Common Types of Legacy Gifts

  1. Bequests: The most common and simplest form of legacy gift, made by adding a provision in a will.
  2. Unused Retirement Assets: Donations from retirement accounts.
  3. Beneficiary Designations: Life insurance policies designated to a non-profit.
  4. Annuities and Trusts: Various arrangements that can be structured for the donor’s lifetime.
