SUPPORTING OUR YOUTH ON THE PATH TO SUCCESS
With our Training and Education Services we provide national specialist remedial and home schooling resources and programmes to our special needs youth through our Learning Support Centres. The Learning Support Centres were developed for learners struggling in mainstream educational classes, either due to educational/remedial difficulties or challenging classroom behaviours (thus at risk of losing their school placements).
Learning Support Centres
Our Learning Support Centres are equipped with latest educational computer-based methods to enhance children’s education. The systems evaluate and address learners’ educational needs in literacy and mathematics, which are identified as core challenges facing South African learners and much-needed building blocks for all other learning.
Each Learning Support Centre consists of four connected services: assessment and counselling, library, computer lab and a classroom.
These facilities were designed to support learners struggling in mainstream educational classes. The intention is to mainstream these learners back to the school from which they were initially referred, as soon as possible following intervention.
